Messi faced a big amount of criticism and was even hated by Argentina fans, but his love for his homeland is greater than any of the people hating him. At the start of the campaign, Messi faced an injury in the warm-up fixture due to which he was kept out of action for a time of 1 week. He didn’t appear in the fixture against Chile in which Angel Di Maria’s man of the match performance made Argentina win by 2-1. Argentina’s next game was against Panama in which Messi was subbed in at 60th minute when his team was 1 goal to the good.
