Reports have confirmed that Lionel Messi Announces he will Return to Argentina National Team. Leo announced his retirement after the Copa America final and since then there was a lot of speculation. The news of Messi quitting the role made other stars like Mascherano and Aguero also call their day.
After the bottling master, Gerardo Martino resigned from his role, Edgardo Bauza was appointed and had a one-hour med as new Argentina coach. Bauza traveled to Barcelona to watch Joan Gamper game and to meet Messi and Mascherano. Bauza told the reporters that he didn’t pressurize Leo to reconsider his decision, rather discussed football. He claimed that Messi has a desire to return to the team but is only disappointed by the management staff.
Diego Maradona has been criticizing Leo after his chaos with AFA and Messi. He gave statements that Messi won’t return, indirectly calling Messi a coward and loser. But what Messi said is a reply to Diego’s criticism.
“I see that there are heaps of issues in Argentina Football Federation and that I don’t need to make additional. Loads of things ran through my head on the day of the final, and that I seriously thought of going away from the team. However, I love my shirt and my country a lot.” He added. “I need to give thanks to all the fans who needed me to stay and play for Argentina. I hope we will be able to give them joy very soon.”
Edgardo Bauza’s Argentina will play Uruguay and Venezuela in World Cup qualifier games in the coming month. The squad announced for the games include the name of all the players who retired along with Messi. Moreover, the missing master “Gonzalo Higuain” as he is overweight right now. But let us hope that he is left out permanently.
